I am using HostGator hosting through my friends dedicated plan for few weeks now and for now all I can say that its near perfect. There were some speed issues with visitors from Asia but that is probally normal depending on the fact that servers are located in USA. Anyway I give Hostgator rank 10 out of 10. "

We needed to find a host that would allow direct access to the MySQL database. Not sure why, but most hosting companies don't offer this.
For us to be able to set up real time reporting from the database using php we had to be able to connect an ODBC.
Hostgator was there for us. Their customer service was efficient and in no time the site was up and running. We've had no down time.
PLUS! We found a Help Desk php program that we've started to use called Hesk. There are tons of great resources in the Cpanel; even a OS "Live Chat" service that is FREE! to use. And Live Person wants $20/month or more per user?
Only good things to say. And I have to admit, I was reluctant at first. Not only do I have no regrets, but I'm getting ready to load another new project on Hostgator this weekend.

I have been with hostgator for a little less than a month at the time of writing this, They have been the best webhost I have ever dealt with. I host a video game clan site with a streaming video section and some small sites for friends. I have experienced no downtime yet, The service has been flawless. I have contacted customer support by e-mail and online chat and they have always been quick to respond and answered my questions to the point. The only pitfall I have found with this webhost is they don't allow any video sharing script, FFMPEG is not allowed on the servers. I am using a shared plan so that was asking for more than I should expect but thats the ONLY thing I had a problem with. The service is great, Great uptime, Good consistent site speeds. You really can't go wrong with HostGator."

I love HostGator. They are great! They saveed me when I really needed help. I had lost my original server due to reasons unknown, and by sheer luck, I found HostGator. They took my old site back up, set it up for me, and worked with me til it was completed. I never felt alone, and their service response was very timely and helpful. They get Top Marks for Customer Service and Support from me.
When I came upon HostGator, I had now Idea how I was going to get my site back up, all I had was raw data files that I had managed to save, before my other server crashed, sure it was a full back up, but I didn't know what to do with it or how to fix it. They walked me through set up, reconfigured it for me, and answered all my questions along the way, even late at night when most customer service/support people are long gone, they were there for me. Their response time was under 1 hour, that to me in this day and age, is fantastic."

"I had so many problems with my previous host during the first 30 days trial period. DOS attack issues, many hours of downtime and poor customer service. Along came HostGator who threw me a lifeline. Their excellent tech team transfered my entire website to their servers in just 24 hours. My website is a very complicated site with SSL and all sorts of permissions to set. HostGator breezed through it, and best of all, the moved me for FREE. I have had no downtime, their servers are very fast and the tech support is second to none. I opted for their SWAMP plan which is excellent value for money. Are you having issues with your current host and are only sticking by them because of the hassle of moving your website? You don't have to put up with it anymore. Have HostGator move your site for free. I did and I have no regrets. Well done HostGator!!!"

I'm coming up on my 6th month anniversary with hostgator and wanted to share my experiences.
Some info about my site:
domain > nfodump.com use > downloads of large (100mb+) dj mixes in mp3 format. there is also a small coppermine gallery with the 'img' (for posting to msg boards) plug-in. i use about 19gb of disk space and push around 100gb/mo of files.
Review:
uptime and speed > excellent. my uptime for the 6 month period is 99.96%. according to domaintools.com there are 700-some other domains (i realize this isn't end-all be-all accurate) so either i've totally lucked out or the machine i am on runs very efficiently.
support > because this site is pretty basic, i have not had a need for hostgator's support. i have been with them one other time in the past and at that time (approx 1 year ago), their ticket response time was approx. 30 minutes.
pricing > i pay 9.95/mo for 100gb of space and 1,000 gb of bandwidth. while i will never come even remotely close to reaching that, it's nice to know that it is (hopefully) there.
overall > hostgator gets a 5 (out of 5) in my book. they have been good to me with the service they provide, have met my expectations and live up to what they offer on their site."

I have used IX Web Hosting for over a year now with no major complaints. The site development tools and statistics provided work well for supporting my author web sire.
My only concern is the weakness I uncovered in Email SPAM Prevention. Spammers have learned how to get around the filters by using conjoined words in their Subject Lines as well as False Sender IDs. Both are currently undetectable by the Horde Email system. SPAM on my site averages about 125 messages for every valid message.
SPAM infiltration can easily be avoided if one uses their own PC email system like Outlook. However, for my case, my web site is listed under my pen name and acts as a fire wall to protect my personal PC and ID. I understand that a new SPAM filtration system is under development by Ix Web Hosting. I hope their new software incorporates serial scanning of the EMail Subject Line as well as a formal SPAM reporting system and a Sender validation system. One should be able to block messages from unvalidates sites."

I'm just in the process of looking for a VPS and I stumbled across this site. I noticed that IX webhosting have got a bad rating and I decided that perhaps I should write something seeing as how I've hosted with them for a couple of years without any problems.
Sure their control panel takes some getting used to but once you get used to it - it works well. I've had no problems with downtime and anytime I've called support for any reason (it's rare) they've been fast and spot on. The only reason that I'm looking around now is that I need hosting specific to a video site and IX don't have that. Otherwise I wouldn't even contemplate going anywhere else they've been so good. I've been with IX for a few months having researched for a low cost hosting partner where I could host and manage multiple domains. I'm not an internet business so if my sites are down it's not critical, but I've never had major problems. There was a glitch with a power outage, but since then things have been fine.
Support have always been responsive though not always able to fix things. They have always pointed me in the right direction.
This is not a web hosted for the non technical. The control panel is daunting and nowhere near as flash as PLesk or Cpanel, but Webshell is a great tool.
Overall I think they are good value - if you need 99.999% uptime then don't expect a low cost provided like IX to deliver it. Pay proper money! If you're hosting non mission critical sites, then I would recommend them."

I have been with imhosted for over 2 years now. I have a gold reseller account and I am happy with the service I have.
I have always found support to be prompt and solved issues. Only had to use support a few times over these couple years.
Sites are up well and email service is very good. There are 600 plus sites hosted on the same server as mine but I have no speed issues."

So far so good....been with them for 8 months and I have had no problems.
Their customer service is the best I have had experienced and their tech support is second to none.
They send me an email every month to see if they can help with any issues I may have.
I used to have my website hosted with Yahoo, and this is night andday by comparison.....Yahoo was the worst!!!! They always seem like they carried a chip....boy was I happy I switched to ImHosted!"

All of them promised this or that and not one of the have delivered like Imhosted has. They are always there to answer my questions and take care of any issues in a timely fashion.
